FLYING ON EASTERN AIRLINES 1949 STYLE

Here is a nostalgic look at an Eastern Flight taken during January 1949 on a Connie. A little different, than today. Included in this story are the original Flight Schedule for Eastern , January 1949, the tickets, boarding passes and baggage claim tickets along with this great ticket folders.
Also given to the passenger were two pamphlets one entitled “Why We Float Through The Air With The Greatest Of Ease”. And “At Your Service The Story of the Services of the Great Silver Fleet.
Take a look at the At your Service pamphlet it is a great look at how the airlines once flew, and the great service you received as a passenger, not like today were you are usually treated fairly bad.
The tickets were for a Flight from Cleveland to Miami and return to Cleveland. Flight 701 an Eastern Constellation originated in Detroit departing Detroit at 8:30 A.M. Local. Arrives in Cleveland and then departs Cleveland at 9:30 A.M. Local., flies non stop to Jacksonville arriving at 12:27 P.M. and departing Jacksonville at 12:50 P.M. after a 27 minute ground time.
